Congratulations to Ryan D. and Christina P.!

Ryan earned First Class Honors for his Level 2 Piano Practical (Performance) Assessment.  Ryan additionally received First Class Honors with Distinction for his perfect (100) score on the Theory Preparatory Rudiments Exam.

Christina earned First Class Honors for her Level 3 Piano Practical (Performance) Assessment.

The Royal Conservatory of Music has awarded one of my 4th grade students, Ryan D., a Certificate of Excellence. Ryan was given the award for having the highest marks in his test center and in the State of Texas. His exam was for the Preparatory B Level. The assessment encompassed: repertoire, technique, musicianship and musical literacy. 

Congratulations, Ryan!

2014 Sonatina/Sonata Festival

Sound the Fanfare of Congratulations!

Four students prepared for and played in the Richardson Music Teachers Sonatina/Sonata Festival on Saturday, February 22. 

Students receiving a rating of Superior with Honor:

• Kelsey
• Santiago 

Kelsey played Clementi's Sonatina op 36 no 2 first movement.  Santiago performed Duncombe's Sonatina in C Major. 

Students receiving a rating of Superior: 

• Caleb
• Aaron 

Caleb performed Benda's Sonatina in A minor. With this Festival, he also achieved his 30 point trophy! Bravo, Caleb! Aaron performed Salutrinskaya's Sonatina in D Major.

I am so pleased that all the students who entered the Festival were able to enjoy Superior ratings!

Clavinova Fun Fest

The 2013 Clavinova Fun Fest, Dallas, TX concluded this past Sunday afternoon with a two hour gala. From eight recitals spread over Friday and Saturday, the audiences voted for those they rated as best performers. These individuals played in the Sunday Winners Recital. 

Of the 16 performers chosen, 3 were from the Allen Long Piano Studio. Congratulations, Caleb, Santiago, and Ron!
